The SE AUS branch has a standing invitation to CoMMA meetings in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. In addition, meetings are held to support specific topics of interest to the NI.

Wednesday 10 Nov 2010 1800 for 1830	Speaker – Justin Jones, Commander, RAN Topic – Reflections on Surface Combatant Command NSW Sports Club, Hunter Street, Sydney Justin has recently completed a tour of duty in command of the HMAS Newcastle. During his tenure, Newcastle conducted a myriad of activities and was awarded the Gloucester Cup for overall efficiency. The presentation will provide insight into commanding a modern naval vessel. His current experience and keen insight will provide for a thought provoking presentation. His presentation will focus on the criminal prosecutions of mariners, noting that ‘one of the many problems with criminal prosecutions of mariners is that the maritime context is given insufficient weight in deference to local criminal legislation.’ We look forward to a timely and interesting presentation. Please note that the NSW Sports Club not only wishes to have earlier advance notice of numbers attending meetings but will also charge for any no shows. They are very strict about this and the branch has paid for a number of members who did not turn up on the night.

If you would like to attend a meeting please advise Jillian Carson-Jackson sec@nisea.org by the Friday before the meeting. Should you find that that you cannot attend please advise Jillian by 0930 on the Monday before the meeting and the "no show" charge should be avoided.
